Renovations By Henning

Henning Group was the GC on an extensive renovation project of my 12 year old home including removing a large section of the roof to add a new second floor ensuite bedroom, remodeling the bedroom and bath underneath, adding a new half bath off of the kitchen, and a new outdoor deck. All of this work involved significant electrical, plumbing and HVAC changes along with the usual framing, carpentry, roofing, drywall and painting. The permitting and inspection process by the City of Naples was very demanding and thorough. Work commenced about February 1st and was completed (all permits closed) in early June (2015). We lived in the (relatively) undisturbed portion of the house throughout the project and so were able to closely observe the work. Despite having both original and new architectural plans, we ran into the usual snags when renovating-- some minor and some major. Henning's project manager was on site or in touch virtually daily to make sure each phase was moving forward at the right pace-- solving problems, staying on top of the subs, and communicating with me regularly. Henning's owner/president also got personally involved as needed and was very helpful. In the final analysis, our project manager made all of the difference on this project and he is the reason I rate Henning so highly. His technical acumen and communication skills are superb. All of the subs were at a minimum "acceptable" (some just okay, some superb), but no matter what a GC might tell you in their sales pitch, finding, hiring and keeping qualified tradespeople in southwest Florida is absurdly difficult right now for every type of specialty and aggressive, daily, hands-on project management is critical. Henning Group gets this and has built their business model around it. First and foremost, they make sure all work is done right, to the quality level specified in the contract. For the record, this is the fourth major ($100k plus) renovation project we have done to various homes we have owned over the past twenty five years, but the first in southwest Florida.

We worked for The Henning Group in regards to a mutual client. Working with The Henning Group was by far the most pleasant and easy experience we have had with a general contractor. The job supervisor was absolutely fantastic with his communication.
